We are thrilled to announce the upcoming Community Alpha Test for EverCraft Online, an original MMORPG project that combines the essence of adventure found in classic MMOs with modern sensibilities. Join us for an immersive weekend of exploration, danger, and camaraderie in the vast, seamless voxel world of Adrullan.

EverCraft Online is a passion project that aims to recapture the magic of early MMORPGs while introducing modern refinements. Set in a massive, voxel-based world, EverCraft Online emphasizes social interaction, strategic gameplay, and immersive exploration.

Key Features:

  • Vast, seamless voxel world with distinct starting cities and meaningful travel
  • 12 unique races and 16 diverse classes (more details below)
  • Skill Milestones system for incremental character progression
  • Immersive gameplay with quality-of-life improvements
  • Social focus with an emphasis on grouping and cooperation
  • Extensive collection, gathering, and crafting systems
  • Rules based resources spawning
  • Compelling non-combat activities and gameplay

Please note that the features listed above represent our vision for EverCraft Online, and some may be in various stages of development during the Community Alpha Test.

If you're new to EverCraft Online, here's what you can expect in the current build:

  • Choose from a subset of the 12 races and 16 classes:
    • Start as a Human in Leont or Greenwood Cover (or as one of several Elf Races who are treated as humans for the purposes of the test)
    • Start as an Ogre in Osgul
  • Immerse yourself in the rich lore and cultures of Adrullan
  • Engage in strategic combat, social interaction, and immersive exploration
  • Discover the joy of collection, gathering, and crafting
  • Experience the thrill of unlocking new skills and abilities through the Skill Milestones system

We are continuously expanding the available starting cities, class abilities, and regions, so stay tuned for future updates!

If you participated in our previous Community Tests, here's what's new:

  • The realm of Osgul, home of the Ogres, is now open for exploration
  • New class options for Humans: Rangers and Beastlords
  • Initiation of the crafting system
  • Chat bubbles for enhanced NPC and player interactions
  • Floating combat text for real-time feedback during battles
  • Single Scene System and memory management optimizations
  • New patcher and code signing for a smoother experience

We've come a long way since our team first assembled three years ago, and your enthusiasm and support have been instrumental in shaping the world of Adrullan. We can't wait to share this incredible experience with you.

Please note that as a pre-alpha project with limited resources, there may be occasional hiccups or even early termination. Our team will be working diligently to ensure the smoothest possible experience, but we appreciate your understanding and patience in advance.

The EverCraft Online Team

Class Affinities

EverCraft Online's classes are designed to have distinct strengths and deficiencies, encouraging players to rely on each other and promote grouping and cooperation to accomplish goals. We have assigned roles where certain classes excel, fostering interdependence and collaboration.

Tank: Measures a class's ability to withstand and mitigate damage, essential for protecting the group in combat encounters.

Damage: Reflects a class's capacity to deal consistent and substantial damage, crucial for efficiently dispatching foes.

Healing: Determines a class's proficiency in restoring health and providing support to allies, vital for sustaining the group during prolonged battles.

Crowd Control: Evaluates a class's aptitude for controlling and disabling enemies, allowing for strategic advantages in combat.

Utility: Encompasses a class's versatility, offering unique abilities that contribute to the group's overall effectiveness, such as buffs, debuffs, or specialized mechanics.

Please Note: These are subjective rough approximations for our intent of the Classes and may not reflect their current state or final outcome.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I join?

Register an account on the Dashboard (evercraftonline.com/dashboard) and download the patcher. Then, join our Discord server at discord.gg/evercraftonline.

What platforms will the test be available on?

The Community Alpha Test will be available on Windows PC only. While we aim to support other platforms in the future, it is not a priority at this time. Some users have reported success with emulation, but we are unable to provide official support or assistance for that.

What are the required specifications?

Optimization and final specifications are still a work in progress. However, we recommend having an Intel Core i5 processor or equivalent, and a GPU like NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 or better for the best experience.

You can reduce the load on your system by adjusting settings like NPC draw distance, chunk distance, shadow quality, and weather quality in the in-game settings menu (F8 > Video tab). Enable V-Sync and other options as needed for your specific system configuration.

What races are available?

Of EverCraft Online's 12 planned launch races, 6 are available for the test. Please note, only the Human and Ogre starting experience, spread over 3 cities, is considered fully implemented. The other available races (collectively "The Elves") are treated exactly as Humans and start in Leont or Greenwood Cover, depending on their class. These races will have cities of their own, but are available as Human proxies for the sake of visual diversity in the test.

What classes are available?

Of EverCraft Online's planned 16 launch classes, 15 will be available during the test. Only Bard remains locked. Please note that only certain races are given access to certain classes. All classes are in varying states of development and will continue to evolve over time.

What's the level cap?

For the Alpha Test, all players will be restricted to a maximum level of 15. Will you reach it?

When is this game coming out?

There is no official release date set for EverCraft Online at this time. We are building towards our Minimum Viable Product (MVP) independently and will explore our options at that stage.

What will this game cost? Will there be micro-transactions?

The monetization structure for EverCraft Online has not been determined yet. We are currently focused on building towards our MVP independently and will explore our options at that stage.

How often are there tests?

We are currently hosting community tests on an ad-hoc basis. While we enjoy showcasing our progress and engaging with the community, these tests require a significant amount of time and effort from our team. Stay tuned to our Discord server for announcements about future test sessions, both scheduled and impromptu!

Is there voxel building?

EverCraft Online does not feature voxel building capabilities for players. However, there are interactions with the voxel world, such as voxel-based spawn rules, voxel requirements, and voxel summoning.

Is there crafting?

Yes, crafting is a significant aspect of EverCraft Online! To truly excel, you'll need to prepare consumables, reagents, traps, gear, and weapons. In the alpha test, you'll experience the beginnings of our crafting system, from refining spoils from dungeons into powerful equipment to passive resource refinement that continues even when you're offline.

These systems tie into our philosophy of preparedness and will integrate nicely with future features like Work Orders and Event Fulfillment.

Is there collection?

With extensive crafting opportunities, collection and gathering are essential activities in EverCraft Online. The world of Adrullan is rich in flora and resources, all meticulously crafted and waiting for you to discover.

Instead of predetermined spawn points, we use voxel spawn rules that players can learn intuitively or through in-game lore. For example, you won't find a scarlet toadstool growing freely in the grass; it will always be adjacent to something specific.

Is there PvP?

Player vs. Player (PvP) combat is not available in this Community Alpha Test. However, we hope to pursue optional PvP features in the future.

What is the focus of EverCraft Online?

EverCraft Online aims to distill what we love about early MMOs and the experience only persistent online games can deliver, and package it into an approachable and engaging experience that we ourselves can play and share with a broader community of players.
